The Story Behind Why I’m Running.

Meet Squire

Early Life & Values

Squire Servance was born and raised in New Jersey, shaped by a family that taught him the values of faith, hard work, and community. Those principles have guided his life and career as an attorney, health-equity advocate, and leader focused on expanding opportunity for families.

Faith & Community

Service has always been central to Squire’s life. His faith has long guided his belief in justice, compassion, and service to others. At First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens in Somerset, he launched the Health Equity Ministry and helped relaunch the Maternal and Infant Health Ministry to support mothers, seniors, and vulnerable families.

Squire’s commitment to service extends well beyond his church. He serves as a Board Trustee and member of the Executive Committee for Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey—one of the nation’s leading public research universities—where he helps guide long-term planning, governance, and accountability.

He also served on the Board of The Wistar Institute, a nationally recognized biomedical research center and National Cancer Institute–designated organization focused on cancer, vaccines, immunology, and infectious diseases. At Wistar, he contributed to the Audit, Scientific Advisory, and Business Development Committees, supporting breakthrough scientific discovery and its translation into community impact.

Squire served as a Board Director for Metropolitan Camden Habitat for Humanity, where he partnered with public- and private-sector organizations to expand affordable home ownership opportunities for families across New Jersey. During his tenure, the organization merged into Habitat for Humanity of South Central New Jersey, which now serves Mercer County and portions of Middlesex County. Squire helped support the transition during the merger process and recently concluded his service on the board.

Most recently, Squire joined the Strategic Advisory Board for Penn Health-Tech, an interdisciplinary initiative at the University of Pennsylvania that accelerates innovative health technologies from concept to clinical impact. In this role, he helps guide strategy at the intersection of medicine, engineering, and public health.

Across all of these roles, Squire’s guiding belief remains the same: strong communities are built through service, opportunity, and the shared responsibility to lift one another up.

Professional Experience

Squire Servance is Senior Of Counsel at a top global law firm, where he is a member of the patents and innovation practice. He is an attorney and senior executive with extensive experience advising and leading organizations across the life sciences sector.

He has deep expertise and a nuanced understanding of the regulatory, scientific, and business dynamics that shape the life sciences industry. Squire has built strong relationships with industry leaders, investors, and scientific experts, supporting the advancement of innovative products throughout the drug development lifecycle.

Squire is also the Founder and Managing Partner of Syridex Bio, an impact-driven life sciences venture studio based in Princeton and focused on developing solutions that accelerate global health equity. In this role, he oversees operations, growth strategy, investment decisions, and fundraising execution. Under his leadership, Syridex Bio recently launched a new biotechnology company headquartered at Princeton BioLabs, further strengthening the region’s innovation ecosystem.

Prior to launching the venture studio and joining his current firm, Squire served as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at a publicly traded life sciences company valued at approximately $10 billion. In that capacity, he was the chief legal advisor to the President & CEO and Board of Directors, overseeing all legal functions—including intellectual property, commercial transactions, business development, licensing, litigation, corporate governance, ethics, compliance, and enterprise risk management.

Earlier in his career, he held a senior legal and leadership role at a Princeton based global biopharmaceutical company and also served as chief legal advisor and senior leadership team member for a ~$2B global pharmaceuticals division of a multinational medical-products company. Before entering industry, he practiced law at an international law firm and served as a law clerk for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

Education

Squire earned his J.D. from Duke University School of Law and his M.B.A. from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, where he concentrated in corporate finance and completed a Certificate in Health Sector Management. He is also a proud graduate of Rutgers University, where he received his B.S. with honors and double-majored in biomedical engineering and cell biology and neuroscience.

Family

Squire is the husband of Zoelene Hill, Ph.D., a Trenton native and community health researcher and advocate focused on improving outcomes for children and families. Zoelene also serves on the Board of Trustees for Stuart Country Day School, continuing her commitment to advancing educational opportunity and leadership for young women.

Together, they are raising two daughters who inspire Squire’s commitment to building a safer, more affordable, and more hopeful future for New Jersey families. The Servances live in Pennington and are active in their church, First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens, where Zoelene serves as a Sunday School teacher and Squire leads the Health Equity Ministry. They are also engaged in local community life throughout the region.

Why He’s Running

Squire is running for Congress because families across New Jersey’s 12th District are being squeezed—by rising costs, limited access to healthcare, and increasing pressures on everyday life. Through extensive listening and engagement across the district, he has heard directly from neighbors about the challenges they face and the urgent need for leadership that is focused, practical, and grounded in community.

Guided by faith, rooted in service, and committed to building healthier and more affordable communities, Squire is stepping forward to deliver results. He is running to ensure that every family in NJ-12 has a fair shot at a strong, stable future—and a representative who understands both the challenges of everyday life and how to turn ideas into action.
